The API follows an only add, never remove philosophy. This is a common, best practice for API's to follow.
Versions are communicated as
VERSION denotes the version number of the API and prefixed to all API request paths, such as
RELEASE-DATE denotes additions to the API, such that each addition is backwards compatible with previous versions.
When any non-backwards compatible additions must be made to the API, the version number will be incremented.
